This time out, we meet another member of the Brown family – the lost middle sister, Francis. She’s working in New York City as a Madam offering services to gentlemen. Her input into what she saw in the early morning hours on that day in 1967 are helpful in the story Tricia is writing.

If you are keeping track, this story is roughly 60% done… The concluding chapters will be presented on May 22nd if we keep up the pace of two chapters per session with sessions on Mondays and Thursdays.  The cover is ready (as above) and aside from some flying edits and another review, the book will be available on Kindle by mid-May and in print (hopefully) by the end of June.

I am working on a pair of companion stories while this is going on.  One involves Magnolia’s town librarian – the other, about Glenn Michaels’ estranged son, Christopher.

Thank you for your forbearance so far!

Possum Hollow 9

This time out, we follow Tricia and a pair of castaways from Pearl back to Magnolia where they are brought into a world neither of them really knew. In the second chapter, Tricia learns of a warning, relayed to her third hand from one of “Russell’s Men”, while Sheriff Roy fills her in on the history of the wayward former deputy.

We will be about a third of the way into the novel by the time today’s chapters are finished. In our first chapter, Russell’s Man, Tricia Michaels heads back out to Possum Hollow to see if she can find the trail running parallel to Possum Hollow Road. While she’s out, she encounters Earl, and finds out a little more about what happened at around the time Jim and Nadine Brown disappeared.

In “A New Concern” (today’s second chapter), another body shows up – not far from Possum Hollow. Sheriff Roy calls her to the scene.

A note to those who, for one reason or another, are having technical problems with the MP3 content accompanying this blog, a version of the complete story will be available soon through the auspices of Amazon.com for reading on Kindle devices. The cover, seen above, is the actual cover for both the Kindle and the upcoming print versions of this story.

Possum Hollow 6

Today’s installment contains two chapters – Tim and Puzzle Pieces.

Tim is Tim McFarland, the youngest of the Brown children and the least affected by the disappearance of Jim and Nadine Brown in 1967. We start the chapter with Tim in conversation with Glenn Michaels. Tricia Michaels arrives and Tim tells both of them what he knows about the fates of his siblings. When he leaves, Tricia tells her husband about what she had found out at the sheriff’s office.

In Puzzle Pieces, Tricia does some research in the local library, assisted by Chester O’Reilly, a bootlegger posing as a homeless man. Her research eventually leads her to the county morgue to inspect the body of a young woman found near Tim McFarland’s property. Her inspection is interrupted by another piece of news. Another body has turned up.
